Ed from Alaska had his sights set on a 780. We started the search for Ed’s RVHauler. In our travels, (just for fun) I showed Ed a pretty rare find that I came across. This is an 880. It is extremely hard to find one of these that meets our stringent criteria. They are not common to begin with, and to find one that is a non-smoking interior, low mileage, immaculate maintenance history …. you see the picture. It is hard to find a nice one when there are so few to begin with.
Meet Ed and Kim, and Hear About their Travel Plans in PRINCE:
Ed said – “Gregg, I really like the looks – check it out”.
WARNING WARNING – don’t let your wife read on. This turns into a total manly-man story.
We arranged for a dyno – and it was STELLAR!
We flew 600+ miles, and went through our usual 5+ hour inspection and test drive process. I could count all the rock chips in the paint ON ONE HAND. The interior was fantastic.
The inspection was one of the best I have done. The mileage is very low.
Then, I went for the test drive.
Get the picture? This truck SOUNDS awesome. I pressed down on the accelerator, and it ROCKETED to 75 MPH in a heart-beat. We bought it. Now Ed can’t sleep.
We are going to decal the truck to match Ed’s beautiful trailer. It is getting the biggest train-horns. Ed’s family is going to hear him coming. I am honored that Ed has chosen RVHaulers to convert this dream-truck for him. Ed texted me the following message to share with you gents considering an RVHauler:
“Dream as if you’ll live forever, but live as if you’ll die today.” – James Dean
Before I flew home, I was sending pictures to my family and RVHaulers friends. My daughter had a name for the truck by the time I touched down.
PRINCE – he is strong, well bred, and covered in fancy, shiny, royal jewellery.
I can’t type any more. I have to go outside and look at the 880 again. Maybe I will sit in it for a while and admire the hood.
OK MEN – Now go tell your wives again about the great mileage, safety, and versatility compared to a regular pickup truck. The manly-man stuff is over. Except it will never be over for Ed. He got an 880. Ed is THE MAN WITH THE 880 NAMED PRINCE.
